Community Feed

The Community Feed is the heart of any community—it's where members post, share ideas, ask questions, celebrate wins, and build connections through conversations.

Understanding the Community Feed

Purpose:

  • Share thoughts, questions, and insights
  • Engage in discussions with other members
  • Ask for help and offer assistance
  • Celebrate achievements and milestones
  • Build relationships with community members

Access:

  • Click the "Community" tab in any community you're a member of
  • This is usually the default tab when you enter a community
  • Active tab is highlighted in yellow

Page Layout

Navigation Tabs (Top):

  • Community (Active): Yellow highlight shows you're on the feed
  • Classroom: Access courses and learning content
  • Calendar: View and manage events
  • Members: Browse the member directory
  • Leaderboards: See rankings and points
  • About: Community information and details

Post Creation Area (Top of Feed):

  1. Write Something Input:

    • Large input area with your profile picture
    • Placeholder text: "Write something"
    • Function: Click to open the post creation interface
    • What You Can Do:
      • Type text content
      • Add images (if supported)
      • Format text (if supported)
      • Select a category
    • Tip: This is where you start all your posts
  2. Go Live Button:

    • Usually located near the post input
    • Function: Start a live stream or live event
    • When to Use: For real-time engagement, Q&A sessions, or live demonstrations
    • Note: Live features may require specific permissions or setup

Category Filters (Below Post Input):

These filters help you organize and find specific types of posts:

  • All: Shows all posts regardless of category (default view)
  • General Discussion: For general conversations and topics
  • Questions: For asking questions and getting answers
  • Wins & Celebrations: For sharing achievements and successes
  • Introductions: For new members to introduce themselves
  • More...: Additional categories specific to the community
  • Filter Icon: Advanced filtering options (date, author, etc.)

How Filters Work:

  • Click any category button to filter the feed
  • Active filter is highlighted
  • Only posts in that category are shown
  • Click "All" to see everything again

Feed Content (Main Area):

The feed displays posts in chronological order (newest first by default).

Empty State:

  • If no posts exist: "No posts yet. Be the first to post!"
  • Encourages you to be the first contributor
  • Great opportunity to set the tone for the community

Post Structure: Each post in the feed shows:

  1. Author Information:

    • Profile picture (circular avatar)
    • Author's name (clickable to view profile)
    • Tip: Click the name to see the member's full profile
  2. Post Content:

    • The main text/content of the post
    • May include images, links, or formatted text
    • Full content is visible in the feed
  3. Engagement Metrics:

    • Likes: Number of likes (heart icon)
    • Comments: Number of comments (speech bubble icon)
    • Click to see who liked or view comments
  4. Timestamp:

    • Shows when the post was created
    • Format: "2 hours ago", "3 days ago", or specific date
    • Helps you see how recent the post is
  5. Category Badge (if applicable):

    • Small badge showing the post category
    • Helps identify post type at a glance

Sidebar (Right Side):

  1. Group Info Card:
    • Group Banner Image: Visual representation of the community
    • Privacy Badge: Shows if community is private
    • Group Name: Name of the community
    • Group URL: Shareable link to the community
    • Description: Brief community description
    • Member Count: Total members (e.g., "8 members")
    • Online Count: Currently active members (e.g., "3 online")
    • Invite Members Button:
      • Yellow button to invite others
      • Opens invite dialog or shares affiliate link
    • "Powered by Clases" Branding: Platform attribution
