Joining a Community

Goal: Become a member of a community to access all its features and content.

Step-by-Step: Joining a Free Community

1. Find the Community

   • Browse the Discover page
   • Or search for a specific community
   • Click on the community card

2. Review the About Page

   • Read the full description
   • Check "What's Included"
   • Review member count and owner information
   • Make sure it matches your interests

3. Click "Join" Button

   • Located in the Group Info Card (right sidebar)
   • Large yellow button
   • If Not Logged In: You'll be redirected to login/signup first

4. Confirm Your Decision

   • For free communities, you're immediately added
   • No confirmation needed
   • You're now a member!

5. Start Exploring

   • You'll be redirected to the community
   • Usually the Community Feed tab
   • All tabs are now accessible
   • Start engaging right away!

Step-by-Step: Joining a Paid Community

1. Find and Review the Community

   • Same as free communities
   • Pay special attention to pricing
   • Make sure the value justifies the cost

2. Click "Join" Button

   • Same yellow button in the sidebar
   • If Not Logged In: Login/signup first

3. Review Pricing Details

   • You'll see the subscription price
   • Monthly billing amount
   • What's included in the subscription

4. Enter Payment Information

   • Add a payment method if you don't have one saved
   • Or select an existing payment method
   • Enter card details securely (processed through Stripe)

5. Complete Payment

   • Review the total amount
   • Confirm payment
   • Wait for payment processing (usually instant)

6. Access Granted

   • You're immediately added as a member
   • Redirected to the community
   • All premium content is now accessible
   • Subscription renews automatically each month

After Joining

What You Can Do Now:

• ✅ Access all community tabs (Community, Classroom, Calendar, Members, Leaderboards)
• ✅ Create posts and participate in discussions
• ✅ Take courses and track your progress
• ✅ View and RSVP to events
• ✅ See other members and connect with them
• ✅ Compete on leaderboards
• ✅ Invite others to join

What Happens Next:

• The community appears on your Dashboard
• You'll receive notifications (based on your settings)
• You can start engaging immediately
• Your membership continues (free) or renews automatically (paid)

✅ Do:

• Read the full description carefully
• Check what's included in membership
• Review the owner's background
• Consider the member count and activity level
• Start with free communities to explore
• Join communities that genuinely interest you

⚠️ Consider:

• Time Commitment: Can you actively participate in multiple communities?
• Budget: Paid communities require ongoing subscription
• Relevance: Does the community match your current interests and goals?
• Activity Level: Is the community active, or mostly dormant?

How to Use:

• Check member count and pricing information to gauge value

• View the group owner's information to learn about the community creator
