Creating and Managing Posts
Creating posts is one of the primary ways to engage with a community. Here's everything you need to know.
How to Create a Post
Step 1: Open Post Creation
- Click in the "Write something" input area
- A post creation interface opens
- You'll see text input and options
Step 2: Write Your Content
- Type your message in the text area
- Be clear and concise
- Ask questions or share insights
- Tip: Engaging posts get more responses
Step 3: Select a Category
- Choose the most appropriate category:
- General Discussion: For general topics and conversations
- Questions: When you need help or have questions
- Wins & Celebrations: For sharing achievements
- Introductions: For introducing yourself (especially as a new member)
- Other Categories: Use community-specific categories if available
- Why It Matters: Categories help others find your post and organize the feed
Step 4: Add Media (If Supported)
- Some communities allow images or attachments
- Click the attachment/
upload icon if available - Select files from your computer
- Note: File size and type restrictions may apply
Step 5: Publish Your Post
- Click "Post" or "Publish" button
- Your post appears in the feed immediately
- Other members can now see, like, and comment
Types of Posts to Create
1. Introduction Posts (Category: Introductions)
- When: As a new member
- What to Include:
- Your name and background
- What you're hoping to learn or contribute
- Your interests related to the community
- Example: "Hi everyone! I'm [Name], a [profession/
role]. I'm excited to join this community to learn about [topic] and connect with like-minded people!"
2. Question Posts (Category: Questions)
- When: You need help or have questions
- What to Include:
- Clear, specific question
- Context or background if needed
- What you've already tried (if applicable)
- Example: "Has anyone used [tool/
technique]? I'm trying to [goal] but running into [issue]. Any suggestions?"
3. Discussion Posts (Category: General Discussion)
- When: You want to start a conversation
- What to Include:
- Your perspective or opinion
- A question to encourage responses
- Relevant context or examples
- Example: "I've been thinking about [topic]. What are your thoughts on [specific aspect]? I'd love to hear different perspectives!"
4. Win/
- When: You achieve something or want to celebrate
- What to Include:
- What you accomplished
- How you did it (if helpful to others)
- Gratitude to the community (if applicable)
- Example: "Just completed my first course! Learned so much about [topic]. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions along the way!"
5. Resource Sharing Posts (Category: General Discussion)
- When: You find something valuable to share
- What to Include:
- What the resource is
- Why it's valuable
- Link or reference (if allowed)
- Example: "Found this great article about [topic]. Thought it might be helpful for others learning [subject]. [Link]"
Engaging with Posts
Liking Posts:
- Click the heart/
like icon on any post - Shows appreciation without commenting
- Helps posts get more visibility
- Tip: Like posts you find helpful or interesting
Commenting on Posts:
- Click "Comment" or the comment icon
- Type your response
- Click "Post Comment" or "Reply"
- Best Practices:
- Be respectful and constructive
- Add value to the conversation
- Ask follow-up questions
- Share your own experiences
Viewing Post Details:
- Click on a post to see full details
- View all comments in a thread
- See who liked the post
- Tip: Engaging with posts helps you build connections

Managing Your Posts
